Short, direct answers to the questions every new Bitcoin user asks
Bitcoin Basics
Bitcoin Basics is my Bitcoin for beginners curriculum, a foundational guide to Bitcoin as digital money covering addresses, wallets, private keys, nodes, and miners. It is written for someone new, and each entry is a short, direct answer to one question. What is Bitcoin and how does it work? What is a wallet, a private key, a seed phrase, a UTXO? How do transactions work, step by step? What is mining, what is a node, what is the halving, and why are fees stable on BSV but variable on BTC?
The entries go on through forks, self-custody, the difference between Bitcoin and Ethereum, Bitcoin Script and smart contracts, proof of work, privacy versus anonymity, and what a sat is, and a glossary closes it out for the terms that keep coming up. Most entries read in a few minutes. The glossary does not, but nobody reads a glossary front to back.
